9 day Indonesian Highlights
This tour starts in Bali, where we can arrange any pre-tour hotel accommodation, then visits Komodo and its world renown Dragons, before travelling to the ancient temple complexes at Prambanan and Borobudur. We end the tour with the orangutans at Camp Leakey.
9 days means we cover a lot of ground. If you want to take longer over the tour then that can be easily arranged, as can extended time in any resort on Bali or Lombok pre or post the tour.

Day 1 : BALI – LABUHAN BAJO. – RINCA – KALONG ISLAND
Pick up from hotel in Bali by plane and boat to Rinca Island, where we hope to see the renown Komodo Dragon. Late afternoon sail to Kalong Island and moor for the night.
This island is known for its flying foxes. [B.L.D]
Day 2 : KALONG – KOMODO ISLAND – RED BEACH – BIDADARI ISLAND- L. BAJO
Sail slowly back to “Komodo island”. On arrive, our guide will take you onto the island, to spot the dragons. Lunch back on the boat before sailing to Red Beach and then Bidarari Island for swimming and snorkeling, [equipment supplied], from the white sand beach.. Late afternoon, sail back to Labuan Bajo for dinner and over night stay. [B.L.D]
Day 3 : HOTEL – MIRROR STONE CAVE – L. BAJO AIPROT – BALI – YOGYAKARTA
Transfer to Bali then forward to Yogyakarta where you will be met nd transferred to the hotel. Free time. [B.L]
DAY 4 : JOGYAKARTA – PALACE – PRAMBANAN TEMPLE
Jogyakarta – Visit the Sultans Palacea, teh centre of Javanese culture and tradition. Then proceed to Prambanan temple, enjoy sunset and in the evening dinner [B.L.D]
Day 5 : PRAMBANAN– KALIADEM MERAPI VOLCANIC– BOROBUDUR –
Drive through lovely countryside and with a short stop at Merpati volcano, to the world class Borobudur temple built in the 8th. Century. Overnight near the temple complex having enjoyed sunset. [B.]
Day 6 : BOROBUDUR – SEMARANG
Gentle day exploring Borobudur and the other sites nearby. Late afternoon transfer to Semarang for the flight to Pangkalan overnight stay. [B.L]
Day 7 : PARK – CAMP LEAKEY – BOAT/LODGE
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours then up a side creek through tea colored water where you will perhaps see the the magnificent fresh water crocodile and other wildlifealong the river bank. Arrive at Camp Leakey research center for Orangutan, where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. Spend some time trekking through tropical rainforest searching for wildlife, wild orangutan, birds and other rainforest animals as well as tropical jungle plant.
Back to the boat for lunch then witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan who are given additional food. Overnight on the boat or at the Lodge. [B.L.D]
DAY 8 : BOAT/LODGE – PONDOK TANGUY- TANJUNG HARAPAN.
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up the river for Pondok Tanguy, the rehabilitation center for ex-captive orangutans, see feeding time at 09.00am. Hike through the forest of Pondok Tanggui searching for wildlife including wild orangutan, birds and others. Afterward continuing the trip to Pesalat reforestation camp to see the reforestation project. Afternoon visit Tanjung Harapan Rehabilitation center to witness feeding time for orangutan at 15.00. Free afternoon program, we could visit village near by park, enjoy canoeing around the river. Overnight on the boat or at the Lodge. (B,L,D).
(When the weather is good, night walking around Pesalat or Pondok Tanggui searching for nocturnal animals and glowing mushroom or by boat looking for fireflies.)
DAY 9 : BOAT/LODGE – KUMAI – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT.
Transfer to Kumai then to Pangkalan Bun airport for next destination.(B)
